Learning French in First Schools

French LogoDASP has completed two years of teaching French to Year 3 and 4 children. Year 3 and 4 Teachers in all our First Schools are now continuing the project. Inspiration and initial support to the scheme was by Ursula Dér, a Middle School teacher from St Osmunds, who has now returned to her teaching post. DASP then seconded Annie Burson, from Winterbourne Valley First School to provide additional support. To continue their excellent work, a secure website has now been created for DASP teachers, to provide supporting resources for use in lessons.

Detailed Lesson Plans are provided to all teachers in the scheme and these are backed up by resouces in the form of pictures, powerpoint files, audio files for correct pronunciation and video files. We are building a collection of good practice videos, filmed in DASP classrooms.The lesson plans are adapted from the nationally acclaimed Catherine Cheater scheme. See:
