The DASP Olympic Torch

St Mary's Charminster

As part of its Olympic celebrations, DASP schools will be carrying an Olympic Flame from school to school. Each school will be looking at exciting ways to transport the torch.

On Friday 21st October 2011, St Mary's Charminster First School arranged for a 1943 US Dodge Military Truck to carry the Torch. This was owned and driven by Mr Richard Shepard of Sturminster Newton, to whom we are very grateful. The children were dressed in the Olympic colours and formed human Olympic Rings in the playground.
